Quentin Tarantino has begun working on his rumored final film.

Acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, known for his iconic films such as Pulp Fiction and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is reportedly working on what is being touted as his final movie.

Quentin Tarantino has begun work on his 11th and final film

Quentin Tarantino has written a script called The Movie Critic, which he plans to direct later this year, as per sources. The specifics of the plot are currently under wraps, but it is known to be set in late 1970s Los Angeles and centered around a female lead.

Moreover, the film’s storyline may revolve around Pauline Kael, a highly influential movie critic, essayist, and novelist who was known for her confrontations with editors and filmmakers. Tarantino is known to have great respect for Kael, making it likely that she could be the subject of the film.

Currently without a studio, the project could be pitched to potential buyers as early as this week. Sony, which distributed Tarantino’s 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is considered a frontrunner due to the filmmaker’s strong relationship with the studio.

Tarantino’s final film will have plenty of stars fighting for roles

Moreover, with a reputation for attracting top-tier actors, it is expected that Tarantino’s final film will have no shortage of talented performers vying for roles. He has previously worked with stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Christoph Waltz, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Moreover, Tarantino has consistently stated that he plans to direct a total of 10 films or retire by the age of 60. With nine films under his belt (counting the two Kill Bill movies as one), and his 60th birthday approaching, this upcoming project could indeed be his last.

Despite his belief that directors lose touch as they age, Quentin Tarantino has expressed interest in exploring other creative avenues, such as directing limited series or plays. In 2021, he published his first novel, a novelization of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
