Bron Breakker came out of nowhere Saturday night and flipped the entire match on its head, helping Gunther take down Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 42 Night 1 inside Allegiant Stadium. It was one of those moments nobody saw coming—and it completely changed the outcome.
Gunther was Ready for Seth Rollins
Gunther wasted zero time getting started. The second Rollins hit the scene, he got blasted with a dropkick and a powerbomb before the bell even really mattered. Rollins fired back in typical fashion, taking things outside the ring and going straight for Gunther’s eyes before the fight spilled around ringside. Chairs started flying, tempers flared, and Rollins even threw up a pair of middle fingers before things officially got underway.
Once the match settled in, the pace slowed down a bit, turning into a gritty back-and-forth. They traded chops, strikes, and counters, with Gunther constantly finding ways to shut Rollins down. Every time Rollins tried to build momentum—whether it was the Bucklebomb setup or a burst of offense—Gunther would cut him off with something heavy, usually another punishing powerbomb.
Rollins had his moments, though. He lit Gunther up with rapid-fire chops, backed him into the corner, and nearly turned the tide with a Pedigree and a stomp—but somehow, Gunther still kicked out. Even when Rollins chained together big moves like the Superplex into the Falcon Arrow and locked in a choke of his own, Gunther found a way to survive, barely reaching the ropes to stay in it.
Things really started to unravel for Rollins late. He went for a third suicide dive, but this time Gunther caught him, drove him into the apron with a Bucklebomb, then slammed him through the announce desk with a powerbomb. It looked like the end right there.
Bron Breakker Returns to Deliver A Message
But Rollins wasn’t done. He fought back, planted Gunther with a Pedigree on the table, and followed it up with a stomp that should’ve sealed it.
Then everything changed.
Bron Breakker hit the ring out of nowhere and absolutely leveled Rollins with a spear. The ref never saw it, too busy checking on Gunther, which gave “The Ring General” just enough time to recover, slide back in, and lock in the sleeper. With nothing left, Rollins faded—and that was it.
And Breakker still wasn’t finished. After the match, he lined Rollins up one more time and tore down the ramp before hitting another spear at full speed, making it clear this wasn’t just a one-off—it was a statement.
