Perhaps we will see more of Matt Murdock and Jennifer Walters sharing the screen following the arrival of Daredevil in She-Hulk. As revealed in promotional materials for She-Hulk, Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock for a special appearance following his MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It has also been announced that Cox will co-star with Vincent D’Onofrio in a new Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, with the two reprising the roles they previously played in the Daredevil series.
Charlie Cox reprising his role as Daredevil
Cox was present at Disney’s D23 Expo where he addressed the status of Daredevil in the MCU in an interview with Extra. The actor says he hasn’t yet seen a script for the upcoming series, so he really doesn’t know what exactly will be happening with Matt Murdock and which other characters in the MCU might be joining him. When given his pick to name any Marvel character he’d like to come in for a special appearance in Daredevil: Born Again, Cox was quick to name She-Hulk’s Tatiana Maslany. Cox explains that the two had a lot of fun on the She-Hulk set and it also makes sense for the story.
Charlie Cox also said that he sees this series as a new beginning. While he and Vincent D’Onofrio may be returning as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, this show isn’t being planned as a fourth season of the Daredevil series that was previously at Netflix. Cox guesses that it will likely have a different tone with a focus on all-new storylines. Because the show is something that’s different from the Netflix series, it all feels so new for Cox, who describes getting emotional going through all of this again with the Daredevil character.
Daredevil: Born Again is expected to premiere on Disney+ in early 2024.
