Five Nights at Freddy’s Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed

Five Nights at Freddy's

The movie adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s has unveiled its Rotten Tomatoes score, and the initial reaction suggests the film may not live up to the hype. Announced back in 2015, following the success of the 2014 game, the cinematic journey of Five Nights at Freddy’s has seen various changes before culminating in the final product released this week. Despite the anticipation from fans, early reactions indicate FNAF might not be the hit many hoped for.

Rotten Tomatoes score could fluctuate as reviews come in

Earlier today, reviews for the movie started to appear, and a majority have skewed negative. Based on over 30 critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has earned a disheartening 38% approval, placing it in the “Rotten” section. As more reviews come in, this score might fluctuate in either direction.

However, a critic’s perspective doesn’t always mirror that of the audience. A testament to this disparity is The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which despite its “Rotten” status, shattered box office records and garnered a whopping 95% audience approval. Maybe FNAF might pull a similar surprise.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Premiering on Peacock and in Theaters

Five Nights at Freddy’s is set to premiere on October 27. Fans can get a sneak peek during early screenings tonight. If you’re not in the mood for a theater experience, the film will also be accessible on the Peacock streaming platform, expected to be available on the evening of October 26.

For our take on Five Nights at Freddy’s, here’s a snapshot of our review:

“While the movie shines visually, the narrative is a letdown. Overcrowded with characters and sidetracks, the plot feels overly complex. While younger fans might overlook its scattered storyline, seasoned fans and adults might find it disorienting. The unique allure of Five Nights at Freddy’s has always been its atmospheric thrills and rich animatronic lore. The film, however, overemphasizes its human characters, whose backgrounds come off as rather thin.”
