Perhaps the next presidential election will involve a multitude of celebrities, should Howard Stern follow through with launching a campaign to become president of the United States. An outspoken critic of former president Donald Trump, Stern has spoken on his satellite radio about his concerns that Trump might be running for office again in 2024. Stern seems to feel that his celebrity status could compete with that of Trump’s and is confident he would smoke the former Celebrity Apprentice host in a presidential election.
Howard Stern very serious on potential presidential campaign
Even after sleeping on the issue, Stern has gotten more serious about his potential presidential campaign. He has even enlisted an A-list actor to serve as his running mate. While this actor is a white man, Stern feels that he is so beloved with the American people that he’ll still help garner a lot of votes. Stern reveals that his pick for vice president would be actor Bradley Cooper, who’s apparently on board if this ends up happening for real. As Stern explains, per Entertainment Weekly:
“Early this morning I was texting back-and-forth with someone I was interested in potentially being my vice president when I run. This person texted me and said ‘I want to congratulate you and you have my vote.’ Very lovely conversation. And I said, ‘How would you feel about being my vice president?’ And you know what he said? ‘Done. Done. ‘ In other words, ‘I’m in.’ It’s exciting. I’ll tell you how great this vice-presidential pick is. He said to me, ‘I’m in, but you know, I’m another white male.’ And I said, ‘I appreciate you saying that, but I believe you’ll be such an asset to the ticket, that I think people will understand.'”
Jesse Ventura approached Howard Stern about being running mate
In 2013, former Minnesota governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura said he was considering a run for president of the United States. At that time, he had even approached Howard Stern on Stern’s show and offered him the spot of his running mate. Ventura told Stern that his reach with a popular show would help make their ticket more popular and give them a real shot at winning the election.
Stern also ran for governor of New York in 1994, though he dropped out early in the race after refusing to divulge information about his finances.
